Plan International Finland invites you to engage in learning and dialogue on social and gender norms change in development programming.

During 2022–2023, under the MFA-funded My Body My Future 2 programme, Plan Finland carried out a diagnostic study in six countries to assess social and gender norms influencing adolescents’ low use of contraception. The insights gained are being utilized to sharpen programme strategies for more effective norm change.

The day is divided into three parts:

9:00–12:00 Seminar that discusses social and gender norm diagnostics in development programming and Plan International Finland’s experiences of the process. We will hear about social norm diagnostic findings from Laos, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia.

12:00–13:00 Networking lunch, where you will have an opportunity to discuss more with our experts on social and gender norm change and network with other participants. The lunch is self-funded.

13:00–15:00 Workshop, where we will focus on social and gender norm change in practice in the sexual and reproductive health and rights programming through examples of programming tools.

The morning and afternoon sessions include a coffee break.

If you are unable to participate for the whole day, you can indicate in the event registration that you would only participate in the morning session and lunch.

The event is held in English.

The event is co-lead by: Henry Salas – Gender and Inclusion Specialist, Tonny Ogwang – Regional SRHR and Gender Specialist and Leena Mubarak – SRHR Specialist, Plan International Finland.
