We welcome you to a seminar on the possibilities and challenges of diplomacy in today’s increasingly complex policy environment. The seminar will explore the consequences of a changing diplomatic environment to international cooperation and its credibility.

These changes, and their consequences, are various. This seminar will look in to how the increased questioning of the legitimacy of international structures and agreements influence ongoing global policy work. And how does the changing role of traditionally strong international actors, like the USA and EU, influence diplomacy? International policy networks are also growing, and non-state actors are more often involved in global processes. What is the role of e.g. religious leaders, Goodwill ambassadors, NGO’s, and business representatives in global diplomacy today?

The seminar will be held in Hanaholmen on Tuesday 6th of March 2018 from 14:00 pm to 16.00 pm.

You can join the Friends of the UN (YK:n ystävät) here.
