Senior Project Manager & Consultant (SPMC)

NIC is organised into units with multiple locations across Europe. NIRAS International Consulting is now seeking Finland based development professional(s) with various technical profiles for the position of Senior Project Manager & Consultant (SPMC) to join our NIRAS Finland office. This will be a full-time, permanent role based in Vantaa, Finland.

The main purpose of this role is to deliver consulting services through technical background relevant to the firm in the management of the on-going projects and the acquisition of new multi-million donor-funded technical assistance projects.  In your work role you would be responsible for:

• Project Management: the delivery of high-quality Project Management in a role of project manager or project director: manage and/or assist in the management of NIRAS projects, including administrative management, technical, operational and financial viability, reporting, ensuring client and project team satisfaction; support in communication and visibility activities of NIRAS and its projects. 
• Business development in a role of bid manger, director or technical bid writer. Development of new business opportunities in relevant sectors and client markets (EU, EIB, WB, ADB, MFA, and other international donors).
• Consultancy and technical consulting services in the area of your expertise.

Qualifications required:

• Master’s degree (as a minimum); relevant technical areas to be considered are among others: agriculture, agribusiness, sustainable energy, environment, climate change, private sector and trade, fund management and development finance, MEL, digitalisation and “education, skills and employment”;
• Minimum 5 years of previous experience of working with major European donor financed project service delivery and/or bidding
• Residence in Finland;

Professional experience required:

• You possess good technical knowledge and skills in the area of your expertise
• Demonstrable understanding of and interest in international development and working in an international/multi-cultural environment;
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. You possess good written and oral English skills – preferably combined with one other major language and any other European languages are an asset;
• Demonstrable ability to write technical text and have analytical skills;
• Proven experience in providing consulting services;
• Proactive, assertive and action-oriented with strong intellectual agility and ability;
• Ability to travel internationally, if required.
