CMI (Crisis Management Initiative) is an independent, non-governmental organisation that works to resolve conflicts and build sustainable peace across the globe. CMI contributes to conflict resolution through dialogue and mediation, mediation support, and supporting national actors.

CMI is seeking a Project Officer for the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) team.

The Project Officer will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the implementation and development of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation processes

  • Providing planning and reporting support to implementing project teams

  • Supporting the planning and conduct of internal reviews and evaluation processes

  • Supporting institutional fundraising through drafting and quality assurance of funding applications and reports

  • Financial monitoring and administrative support for the PME team

A successful candidate is expected to have:

  • A Master’s degree from relevant field of study

  • At least (3) three years of work experience preferably in the field of conflict resolution/prevention, international peace and security. Experience in planning and reporting is a strong asset.

  • Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and Results-Based Management (RBM) approaches.

  • Excellent communication and teamworking skills.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills, creativity, conflict sensitivity and good political judgement.

  • A flexible attitude and ability to work under pressure in challenging circumstances and to tight timelines.

  • Strong analytical and drafting skills, and ability to process large quantities of information

  • Fluent written and spoken skills in English and Finnish.

  • Commitment to CMI values and principles of neutrality.

Project Officer will report to PME Senior Manager. The position will be for one-year fixed-term (possibility of renewal) and placed in Helsinki. Starting date is as agreed, preferably in May.
