Project Officer

CMI (Crisis Management Initiative) is an independent, non-governmental organisation that works to resolve conflicts and build sustainable peace across the globe. CMI contributes to conflict resolution through dialogue and mediation, mediation support, and support to national actors.

CMI is seeking a Project Officer for its Programme Management Office.

The Project Officer will be responsible for:

• Implementation and development of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation processes (i.e. planning, reporting)
• Providing design and reporting support to implementing project teams
• Support the planning and conduct of internal reviews, evaluation processes
• Team coordination, financial monitoring and support for PMO team

A successful candidate is expected to have:

• A Master’s degree from relevant field of study
• At least three years of relevant work experience in conflict resolution, international peace and security. Previous experience in working on PME processes is seen as a strong asset
• Familiarity with Results-Based Management (RBM) or Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) approaches.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and teamworking skills.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, creativity, conflict sensitivity and good political judgement.
• A flexible attitude and ability to work under pressure in challenging circumstances and to tight timelines.
• Strong analytical and writing skills as well as good IT skills.
• Fluent written and spoken skills in English and Finnish; knowledge of French, Russian or Arabic is an asset.
• Commitment to CMI values and principles of neutrality.

Project Officer will report to Senior Manager, Programme Management Office. The position will be fixed-term until the end of 2021 and placed in Helsinki. Preferred starting date is as agreed, preferably latest in the beginning of October.
