Finn Church Aid is looking for Program Coordinator for the Secretariat of the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers (NRTP). The Program Coordinator will support the planning and implementation of NRTP program and projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, including programmatic and financial planning and reporting, coordination of administration and logistics and support to the resource mobilization. The Program Coordinator will also coordinate the NRTP global program planning and reporting, compile annual plans and reports and act as a focal point for FCA annual planning and reporting process.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the global program planning and reporting (30%)

  • Coordinate the global program planning, monitoring and evaluation and  reporting under guidance of Senior Operations and Program Manager

  • Compile global program proposals, annual and mid-year reports based on team inputs

  • Develop tools and methods for global program monitoring and evaluation under guidance of Senior Operations and Program Manager

  • Act as a focal point for FCA annual planning and reporting 

    Support to program and projects in Sub-Saharan Africa (70%)

  • Support the Regional Program Manager in planning and reporting of projects and programs in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly East Africa/Horn of Africa, Central African Republic and Sahel region.

  • Support the development of regional partnership models and coordinating regional meetings 

  • Support the resource mobilization and development of new partnerships

  • Coordinate procurement processes, draft contracts and agreements, ensure proper documentation of projects 

  • Support the budgeting, financial reporting and preparations for audits

  • Coordinate logistical and travel arrangements for meetings and events

Qualifications

  • University degree (post-graduate level) in a relevant field, e.g. peace and conflict studies, international relations, development studies, human rights or similar

  • At least three years of relevant professional experience from peacebuilding and/or development sector

  • Thematic expertise in peacebuilding and conflict transformation

  • Regional expertise and experience of working with/in countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, especially Horn of Africa/East Africa, Central African Republic and Sahel region

  • Experience in program and project planning, M&E and reporting

  • Experience in developing funding proposals, budgeting and financial reporting

  • Excellent skills in analytical thinking and professional writing

  • Fluent in oral and written English. Working knowledge of Finnish, French, Swahili and/or Arabic is considered as an asset.

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills and experience in working in multi-cultural environment

  • Excellent organisational skills and proactively managing and coordinating work.

  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

A fixed-term contract for this position will be made until 31.12.2021 with six months’ probation period. The compensation is based on FCA Compensation System and depends on prior work experience.
