Save the Children Finland (SCF) seeks a Partnership Manager (Global Corporates):

To innovate and drive the implementation of a business strategy to establish relationships with Corporates in Finland. This role is responsible for enabling the effective cultivation and stewardship of new and existing relationships, partnerships and income streams at Save the Children Finland.

Partnership Manager / Kumppanuuspäällikkö

Partnership Manager is responsible for searching, negotiating and taking care of partnerships involving Finnish primarily globally operating corporate partners, especially in the case partnerships including activities within Save the Children international programmes, innovation for development or CSR/Child Rights and Business. Works as a part and in close collaboration with the International programmes team and Fundraising team.

Task 1: New partnerships:

Leads the identification of new funding opportunities for the Finnish private sector donor/s and suitable other funding instruments, and ensures SCF capitalises strategic available funding opportunities from the donor as per SCF donor engagement strategy.  Leads the development of SCF account strategies for corporates and chosen funding instruments and targets with support from IPD and implements those strategies. Identifies and develops new business development opportunities within businesses who are working on innovation for development topics relevant to SCF programmatic needs.

Task 2: Partnership management of existing partners:

Is Responsible/accountable for the account management and partnership with designated partners. Is responsible for building up the relationship and  communicating with the donor all relevant award related information, in articulation with Portfolio Manager and Country Office, including for the submission of reports, sharing project key information and documents (incl. contracts) and for managing negotiation and amendment processes. Coordinates agreed comms activities and takes care of the communication with donor during fixed term evaluations, reviews and audits organized by the donor and ensures liaison with other SCF departments / staff.

Task 3: Internal collaboration and support for corporate partnerships:

Is a part and closely participates to strategic actions of the International Programme (IP) team and Corporate Fundraising team. Supports SCF and CO staff concerning donor requirements and compliance of assigned corporate and institutional donor/s, shares knowledge and provides capacity-building support for portfolio managers and other SCF staff with responsibilities for assigned donor awards.

Task 4: Child Rights and Business/Corporate Social Responsibility:

Supports and closely collaborates with the advisor of advocacy and child rights and business in planning and implementing SCF´s work on child rights and business and CSR.  Identifies new funding opportunities within this thematic approach in close collaboration with other team members of the corporate fundraising team. 

Task 5: Collaboration inside SCI and with CO´s in designated corporate/institutional partnerships:

Acts as SCF representative in SCI donor account management forums and contributes to the development of SCI’s donor accounts and strategies through close cooperation with colleagues from other SC members and country offices. Provides capacity-building support on donor compliance, proposal development, reporting etc. for SCI country offices. Supports the SCI country offices in dialogue between SCI and donor delegations/country offices in country in order to contribute to building close partnerships between relevant Country Offices and the donor delegations in country and HQ level.

Task 6: Communications, campaigning and reporting:

Contributes to SCF campaigning ref. to corporate partnerships. Contributes to SCF corporate fundraising strategy design and execution. Contributes to SCF internal reporting in regards to assigned donors. Contributes to SCF budged planning in regards to assigned donors. If needed, contributes to partners’ communication material needs and reporting concerning partnership activities or coordinates internally.

Qualifications and experience

  • Masters level university degree and a good understanding of issues related to corporate social responsibility (CSR)
  • More than 7 years of work experience
  • Proven track record in working with business development tasks and global corporates
  • Knowledge and experience of designing and implementing communications, fundraising or sales/marketing and advocacy campaigns
  • Current knowledge of CSR themes and reporting procedures as well as communication
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Fluency in written and spoken Finnish, English and computer literacy
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s vision, values and principles
  • Knowledge of working with child rights and human rights business principles
