FCA is seeking a Finance and Events Officer for its Network Asia Team of five people.

The Finance and Events Officer ensures the overall administrative and financial management of the EU-funded regional multi-stakeholder project “ALLY – Amplifying Leadership of Local Youth in Preventing Violent Extremism in South Asia“. Responsibilities also include the logistical arrangements of meetings and the technical advice and support in financial management to the partners and stakeholders.

The Finance and Events Officer further ensures the effective coordination and communication with the Network’s Asia-based members and supporters. Responsibilities include the support of programmatic activities and the management of meetings and initiatives.

Areas of responsibility include:

Financial and Administrative Management of the Project “ALLY – Amplifying Leadership of Local Youth in Preventing Violent Extremism in South Asia” (50% of the working time)

  • Establish and document systems and procedures for adequate administrative and financial management since the inception of the project, ensuring smooth running of the project administration and finances. 

  • Establish a system for project routine financial reporting with partners and to HO. 

  • Ensure, through systematic, continuous and active communication and field visits and other means of monitoring, that the project partners comply with donor, contractual and internal requirements related to administration and financial management.

  • Establish a system/mechanism for funds transfers to partners in the region and reporting procedures for the used funds.

  • Provide, remotely or through visits/training, support and guidance to partners in administrative and financial management issues.

  • Consolidate/prepare official and adhoc donor and management reports.

  • Coordinate logistical arrangements, administration and finances of events (such as workshops) organized in the region in the framework of this project.

Enhance collaboration between Network members and supporters in South and Southeast Asia (50% of the working time)

  • Coordinate communication and collaboration building of key Network members and supporters in South and Southeast Asia.

  • Support organisation, administration and financial management of Working Group meetings and initiatives, and Tradition and Faith Orientated Insider Mediator (TFIM) support in Asia. 

  • Coordination and collaboration with FCA Asia based offices.

Competence and Personal Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, and/or relevant accounting certification 

  • Professional experience in project support and financial management/accounting 

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills  

  • Understanding of donor requirements related to finances and administration (preferably EU)

  • Ability to adapt to a new working environments achieving results with multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation

  • Expertise with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint); accounting softwares, advanced Excel skills preferable

The fixed-term contract for this position will be made until August 2022 with four months’ probation period, starting 1st of March or as soon as possible. The position is based in Bangkok.
