MSF (Lääkärit Ilman Rajoja) is looking for a flexible, passionate, action-oriented Digital Communications Officer to set-up and develop our online presence in Finland. You will need to be a creative content producer with strategic thinking and sharp analytical skills. The Position

In the initial phase you will develop the Finnish website and social media strategy, together with a Website Project Manager and with support from the Communications Manager. Simultaneously you will start producing and translating content for our communication channels.
Once that is done, you will be responsible for updating the website and social media channels and producing material for online fundraising and communication campaigns. You will manage day-to-day interactions with supporters and contacts via social media channels and provide support to your colleagues in the fundraising unit. Apart from this you will also:

  • Support the set-up and implementation of communication and fundraising plans and strategies.
  • Carry out Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) of the website.
  • Make sure static content on the website is up to date.
  • Assist the Fundraising Manager with donor communications.
  • Monitor and analyze social media activity and produce reports.
  • In case of a crisis, be available for urgent online updates.

What we expect from you:

  • Fluency in Finnish, both written and spoken
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Excellent skills in English and translation from English to Finnish
  • Experience of web publishing and knowledge and understanding of SEO
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of social media
  • Basic photo and video editing skills

If you additionally have any of the following it will be valuable:

  • Academic degree in journalism, communication or related field
  • Knowledge of international relations and NGO or humanitarian work
  • Experience of using Google Analytics
  • Swedish language skills
  • Ability to read French

Conditions of employment:

Employment type: Permanent position with six (6) months’ probation  
Work hours: 38 hours’ work week (100%)
Salary: 3033 euro/month, according to MSF FI Salary Policy level 5
Benefits: Occupational healthcare, life insurance, travel insurance, insurance for work related injuries, wellness contribution (200 euro/year), lunch benefit.
Vacation: As per MSF FI HR policy  
Location: Based in Helsinki with occasional travels
