Country Delegate to Ethiopia

Finnish Red Cross is searching for Country Delegate to Ethiopia, Addis Abeba, for 2 years starting 1st April 2020.

The purpose of the Country Delegate position is two-fold and is divided between programme support duties (70–80 %) and regional climate resilience adviser duties (20–30 %).

Main purpose of the Country Delegate position is to provide support and ensure overall oversight of the Finnish Red Cross (FRC) supported projects, programmes and operations in Ethiopia. Particularly in the beginning of the mission, the focus of the delegate’s work is on providing project management support and thematic advise to the Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) in the new ERCS-FRC development cooperation project “Towards Resilient Communities in Afar, 2020-2024”. The Country Delegate will also provide support to the ERCS National Society Development (NSD) plan which forms part of FRC support to ERCS.
